Objects of Nairobi celebrates the things the city makes: furniture, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, lighting and beautifully considered everyday objects from independent designers. The evening sits somewhere between exhibition, showroom and social gathering. Guests meet the makers directly, experience objects in a designed environment and encounter work that rarely appears together in one room. The future of African design is not somewhere else. A great deal of it is being made around Nairobi right now.
